The 2007-08 school year is in full swing and the Equestrian Program is as busy and active as it has ever been! We have over twenty students participating in the program at various levels on a daily basis.Basic and Advanced Horsemanship classes are now offered as part of the academic curriculum and are full! We still offer lessons, trail rides and have a great group of show riders who have been very active and gathered great ribbons at the shows this fall.

This truly unique program allows our students to become totally involved in all aspects of nurturing, caring for, and loving the wonderful animals placed in their charge.
Many of whom would never have been granted this opportunity had they not attended Oak Hill Academy.

For some time now the Equestrian Program has been able to sustain it self and not become taxing on the budget of the school. Where we fall short is being able to raise the monies needed for updates and improvements at the equestrian center. Several years ago, through the generosity of parents and grandparents and friends of present and former students we were able to raise the money needed to replace our worn out fence and riding ring. We now need to desperately do some major repair work on our aging barn and look towards covering our existing riding ring so we are able to ride in what ever conditions mother nature throws our way!

We would like to complete this project in two phases; first, the remodeling of the barn with a projected cost of $28,000 which will consist of siding on the barn
with metal, replacing the windows, and re-fronting all of the stalls. For phase two we want to enclose and cover
our existing riding ring. We have been told that the cost to cover our existing riding ring will be about $50,000.

These improvements will not only improve the look of the equestrian center, they will help to provide a safe
and durable home for our horses for many years to come.

do this work for us. All that is standing in our way are the necessary funds to complete this project.
