Equestrian Program
Girls’ Equestrian Overnight Camp
Does your student love horses, or show an interest in learning more about them? Whether she’s an experienced equestrian or brand new to riding, Oak Hill’s overnight camp could be the perfect way to spend her summer.
Registration for this year’s camp has ended.
LENORE EQUESTRIAN CENTER
The Lenore Equestrian Center is a staple of Oak Hill’s campus. Dedicated on November 1, 2013, it boasts an indoor riding arena, a changing room, an office, and horse stalls. Oak Hill friends and patrons John and Dorothy Lenore, of El Cajon, California, lend this state-of-the-art facility its name.
Our Horses
We maintain a variety of horses for showing, lessons, and trail rides. Our show horses are mainly American Saddlebreds, Hackneys, and some Quarter horses. We also own an assortment of horses for trail riding.
Oak Hill patrons donated most of the horses used in the program, and John and Dorothy Lenore donated many of the American Saddlebred horses.
ADDITIONAL FACILITIES
We also have a second barn for stabling horses, an outdoor riding arena, 60 acres of pasture, and endless trails and fields for riding.
Building Confidence and Relationship Skills
The Equestrian Program provides many of our students with an exposure to horses they otherwise may not have. Far more than just good exercise, horseback riding can reduce anxiety, increase self-esteem, and improve communication and problem-solving skills.
