Leave Procedures

The Academy is closed for three major breaks during the academic year:  Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break (2017 – 2018 school calendar).  All students are required to depart campus during these breaks.  The Academy offers transportation to and from the Charlotte, NC, airport (CLT) for a fee.  Requests for transportation to the airport, along with flight information, should be submitted to the Transportation Coordinator (rcooper@oak-hill.net) a minimum of 10 days in advance of travel dates.

While students are required to remain on campus most weekends throughout the academic year, certain weekends are designated as “open weekends.”  When parents request that their student come home for an open weekend, the following procedures are to be followed:

1. All requests for weekend leave must be submitted in writing to the Director of Student Affairs (butta@oak-hill.net) by the Wednesday prior to the requested weekend.

2.  If students are requesting to travel with or join another student’s family for the weekend, the parents or guardians of all students must provide written permission.  Requests must be submitted to the Director of Student Affairs (butta@oak-hill.net) by the Wednesday prior to the requested weekend.

3.  The Academy offers transportation to and from the Charlotte, NC, airport (CLT) for a fee.  If you would like to use this service for an open weekend please contact our Transportation Coordinator (rcooper@oak-hill.net) to finalize any transportation arrangements.

4.  Permission for a student to leave with siblings must be submitted in writing by parents or guardians to the Director of Student Affairs (butta@oak-hill.net).  Students may not depart campus with friends.
