On Wednesday, the day of Oak Hill Academy’s last regular season Gold Team Basketball game, we assembled in storied Turner Gymnasium in our “School Spirit” regalia for the epic final round of this year’s Spirit Days competition. “Feats of Strength” was the theme of the day’s activities, as class representatives tested their physical and mental fortitude in games including an iron woman contest, jump roping, the “wall sit,” a sack race, a basketball shoot, a (grueling) tug-of-war tournament, and the “Dizzy Bat” relay. The gathering was capped with a lively class cheering competition.

Our thanks to Mr. Hill and his band of faculty and staff helpers who engineered a great series of Spirit Days events. And thanks to our students for your enthusiasm, creativity and participation. On Thursday morning, Mr. Hill announced that this year’s competition was the closest on record, and it was the Seniors who claimed the crown. Congratulations, seniors–and enjoy sleeping in on an upcoming Saturday School day!
