Summer Session
June 23 - July 26, 2008
Academics-Credit
Classes are small with time set aside each night for a 1 1/2 hour study hall. Students may select from a curriculum including most subjects taught during the regular school term. These classes are held for two and one-half hours each day for a repeat subject and five hours a day for each new subject. Classes meet six days per week. Two repeat or one new subject may be taken for full credit. A second new subject may be taken in the afternoon for an additional cost. Tutoring is also available.
Recreation
Summer in the mountains means outdoor activities. Students will enjoy cookouts, swimming, paddleboats and fishing at our lake. They will canoe the New River, hike the highest mountains in Virginia, and participate in horseback riding. An intramural sports program includes basketball, volleyball, softball, tennis, and soccer. An individual may also work out in the weight room/fitness center or build stamina through running various tracks and roads. Weekly trips to the movies add to our recreational activities.
