Thursday, October 8, and Friday, October 9, 2026
Fall Parents’ Days are a longstanding Oak Hill Academy tradition, and a welcome chance for families to reconnect after the first four weeks of the school year.
By now, students have started to find their rhythm. Routines are taking shape, new friendships are growing, and students are becoming experts on life at Oak Hill. They’re often eager to introduce their friends, share the activities they’ve embraced, and show their families how they’ve settled in. For parents, it’s a wonderful opportunity to check in, celebrate new experiences, and see how much can change in just a month.
This year, Fall Parents’ Days take place just before the school year’s first open weekend, giving families a great opportunity to pick up their students and enjoy a three-day weekend together. Students should return to campus by 7 p.m. on Monday, October 12.

Thursday, October 8: Learn, Connect, and Cheer
Thursday features parent-focused workshops on topics important to Oak Hill families, including college applications, NCAA eligibility, and the college recruitment process for athletes. With many Oak Hill students pursuing athletic opportunities at the college level, these sessions are designed to offer useful information and guidance.
The day will also include a short inter-squad game featuring our PSG Academy Pro Residency players, a fun highlight for families and students alike. It promises to be both an informative and enjoyable day on campus.
Friday, October 9: A Day Full of Oak Hill Highlights
Friday brings parents into the heart of campus life. Families can attend homeroom with their students and enjoy a musical performance showcasing the work of the music department. The day will also feature an equestrian parade and an athletic presentation with the energy of a pep rally and the excitement of midnight madness.
Prescheduled parent-teacher conferences will keep the school building buzzing throughout the day, giving parents the opportunity to meet with teachers and discuss student progress one month into the school year.
In the evening, the Parent Social will offer a relaxed, welcoming opportunity for Oak Hill families to connect with one another and enjoy time together.
Parents’ Days are also a chance to experience Oak Hill’s dining service: meals on both Thursday and Friday will be shared by students and parents.
An Open Weekend, with Options for Everyone
Oak Hill is home to students from across the United States and around the world. While many families will take advantage of the open weekend to spend time together, travel and distance mean that not every student will have family plans. In a typical year, nearly half of our students remain on campus.
For those students, the weekend can be a welcome respite after four weeks of settling into school routines. Some may choose to relax and recharge, while others can join the off-campus social and cultural trips offered throughout the weekend. Options may include shopping, restaurants, movies, college football, museums, and outdoor attractions.
With no classes scheduled on Monday, students staying on campus have time to choose their own pace, or combine a little downtime with an outing or two. Whether they spend the weekend with family, enjoy a quiet break on campus, or explore the area with friends, students have a range of ways to make the most of the open weekend.
Fall Parents’ Days Are About Connection
At their heart, Fall Parents’ Days are about connection, bringing families into campus life and creating opportunities for parents, students, teachers, and the Oak Hill community to connect. The Open Weekend extends that spirit in a more personal way: giving students time to reconnect with family and friends, enjoy a change of pace, and return refreshed for the weeks ahead.
